Special Issue Proposals

The Journal of Confucian Philosophy and Culture (JCPC) welcomes proposals for Special Issues that address significant themes or emerging topics in Confucian philosophy, East Asian thought, and related areas of scholarship.

A Special Issue normally consists of 3–4 articles organized around a focused theme and coordinated by a guest editor.

Submission Requirements

Scholars who wish to organize a Special Issue are invited to submit a proposal including the following information:

  • Title & Theme: Proposed title and theme of the Special Issue.
  • Description: A brief description of the topic and its academic significance (approx. 300–500 words).
  • Guest Editor(s): Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the proposed guest editor(s).
  • Contributors: A preliminary list of contributors and tentative article titles (if available).
  • Timeline: An estimated timeline for submission and review.

Review Process & Contact

All proposals will be reviewed by the editorial board. If approved, the guest editor(s) will work in coordination with the JCPC editorial team throughout the editorial and peer-review process.
